Carers Break is a Social Enterprise that provides a high level of bespoke personal care and support for vulnerable people in their own homes. Their unique approach is to provide a minimum of two hours of support on any occasion. They provide services all over Cornwall to health, social care and private clients.

They use their branded jute bags to promote quality and sustainability and to maintain brand presence with their clients even when they’re not providing care.

Rueben Jenkins, Director of Carers Break, says: “We started our company in 2013 following redundancy. We had nothing, no funds, no premises and no resources – just a dream. With the help and support of a variety of charities and social enterprises around the country we begged, borrowed and blagged some office space and some second-hand furniture, stationary and free labour.

“By October 2013 we were registered with the CQC, had negotiated terms with the NHS and employed our first support worker. Today we employ around 45 people and provide between 800 and 1000 hours of care and support most weeks of the year.”

Rueben adds: “We give our jute bags away to staff, clients, stakeholders and visitors to recruitment and information events. The bags increase our brand awareness across Cornwall and are proving to be very popular.

“People love our bags: they love the quality and the colour and the practicality. We find the quality of the bags to be an excellent standard. The words and images are clear and the colours are bright and solid.
