For 29 years Hay Festival has brought together writers from around the world to debate and share stories at its festival in the staggering beauty of the Welsh Borders. Hay celebrates great writing from poets and scientists, lyricists and comedians, novelists and environmentalists, and the power of great ideas to transform our way of thinking.

They chose this style of bag based on the size and usability for carrying books and other literature paraphernalia around the festival site. The bag is so effective due to its simplicity.

Many other festivals have taken advantage of our overseas service by ordering well in advance of the event, reducing their marketing budget and profit margins if selling the bags. We also have many clients who have organised events and sold bags, not just jute, but cotton and cotton canvas too, but as a sponsorship package. The sponsor pays for advertising space on the reverse of the bag, halving the initial outlay costs. This has worked time and time again and creates a win-win situation with local supporters of the event or campaign.

This has also been an extremely successful fundraising idea with school PTA’s, creating advertising opportunities for local businesses to promote their brand and simultaneously support their local school.
