GoJute & South Westerly are looking for a designer to join their small but growing teams.

You’ll need at least one years design experience and have the ability to think on your feet, express your ideas and work part of a team.

Your day to day will include:

Design marketing material to launch our brand new business ‘South Westerly’.
Create amazing design solutions for our customer’s windbreaks (corporate and bespoke).
Engaging our audience with marketing campaigns, newsletters and other content led creative.
Developing social network ideas.

The successful candidate will have:

At least 1yrs industry experience
Educated to a relevant degree or HND level in a Graphic design subject.
Experience of working across a range of disciplines including: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Campaign Monitor.
Experience and knowledge of artworking and setting up design for print.
Some basic coding, CSS, HTML etc. would be an advantage.
Marketing experience/passion would also be an advantage.

This truly is an exciting new position for the right candidate, offering the opportunity to have hands-on involvement in the launch of a new business (the first of its kind), but also to manage the day to day design necessities of an established 8 yr old business too. This full time role is based in our office in St Austell, Cornwall.

Spring?…!

Well you would never know it if you stepped outside but, yes, spring is finally here! With textbook timing our Director Gary has been away to India, not just soaking up some much needed vitamin D but, accompanied by a representative from fashion giant Tommy Hilfiger, he toured our jute bag factory to demonstrate first hand that our claims about ethical manufacturing processes and our insistence on a fair deal for every person involved in Go Jute are genuine. On the strength of this visit, and the high quality of the end product, a deal has indeed been signed and Tommy Hilfiger (not known for using anything but the best) are now added to our list of illustrious clients. We have been beavering away since Christmas and quite a few more big name clients are soon to be working with Go Jute, watch this space for more good news coming very soon..

Hurricane Sandy affects GoJute USA

Customers of GoJute will know that our American office was affected during this week’s Hurricane Sandy disaster. Whilst there was no long-lasting damage to the office itself, some stock was impaired.We have managed to get the business up and running as usual as of yesterday, but apologise for any further delays in deliveries over the next week.

Didn’t think a QR code could be printed onto jute?

Well it can!

You may have heard that QR codes are set to become the ‘next big thing’ but what is a QR code?

QR or Quick Response Codes are a type of two-dimensional barcode that can be read using smartphones, that link directly to text, emails, websites and phone numbers.

With as many as half of us now owning smartphones, and that number growing on a daily basis, QR Codes have the potential to have a major impact upon society and particularly in advertising, marketing and customer service with a wealth of product information just one scan away.

We were asked this September by new client SACO , if we were able to produce a jute bag with a QR code printed on the back. The result was perfect, the QR code directs the user to a page on the SACO website which can then be monitored by the company to see just how successful their bag promotion has been. Clever huh?

Flavour Fest 2012

We’ve been so busy today getting all the last minute things together for Flavour Fest 2012. It’s the South West’s largest food and drink festival, featuring over 100 food and produce stands showcasing the best of the regions food & drink, an important event for us to attend to say ‘hi’ to old clients and to inform potential new clients about our jute range and of course, our latest product launch the promotional windbreak.

Flavour Fest has been a date for the Go Jute diary for the last few years and we are very proud to sponsor it by supplying branded jute bags to sell to their customers,the perfect size for all the goodies and samples collected from the event yum!

So we’ve been in business since 2006 and have adapted our website a couple of times now, but it still wasn’t showcasing everything that we are able to offer. So to begin 2012 with a head start we have had a revamp! You’ll see that there are many more images of the jute bags we produce on this new site, and with our latest investment (an automated screen-printing machine) we will be updating the website regularly with the latest prints on everything from t-shirts to mugs.
